FIBRE
WORKS

Fibreworks
Art. Made with Fibre.

jobbing gardeners - work in progress
sunday afternoon gone fishing - work in progress

Wool, silk, linen, cotton, feathers & fur. Fibreworks are artworks using fibre as the medium.

I find that fibre is a very satisfying medium to work in, it lends itself particularly well to reproducing the fine textures of animal hair and bird feathers. All these are available as prints. They've also been selectively reproduced on magnets, gift cards and enamel mugs.

I create whatever appeals to me at the time. I'm constantly surrounded by dogs so I did a small series of different breeds. One snowy day I made a snowman. My garden is host to a collection of hardworking birds, they became The Jobbing Gardeners. I have produced a series of Arrowtown magnets for our local museum. I also sell these through the market. Currently I'm working on a series of native birds and kiwi nostalgia. At the moment there are more ideas than there are hours in the day.
