Nisse

These were a 2021 winter project. Inspired by the Nisse from Scandi folklore - little gnomes who inhabit hearth and home and bring good luck to the places they choose to reside. There's something very festive about them and I've always loved their oversized hats. The tall ones have felt hats and aprons with big pockets. The small ones have knitted hats. Their beards were made from combed Corriedale wool. There are not many left but the remainder still make an appearance at Christmas.
